I have been a member of Ramblers for over 40 years and am passionate about walking. I live in Fordwich and regularly walk the footpaths around the Town and all over East Kent. I was the originator of the Canterbury Rings walking trails, a series of three waymarked circular routes in and around the City. Canterbury Ramblers are an active and friendly group who welcome all newcomers to our programme of walks expertly led in our beautiful East Kent countryside. I look forward to meeting you on one of these events in the near future.
Bio to follow

I look after membership and the website for Canterbury Ramblers. Besides my love of walking, I'm a software developer, and the site you're viewing right now runs on a platform called NGX-Ramblers I've built and maintained over the last 13 years - it's now used by Ramblers groups across the country, not just here in Kent. Membership Secretary is the other hat: keeping our records straight and making sure new members get a warm welcome. If something on the website isn't working the way it should, I'm the person to tell.

I grew up close to the southern tip of the Pennines, with the surrounding hills and countryside as my childhood playground, so it is inevitable that the countryside would always play some part in my life. In the last 3-4 years I have regularly walked with the Ramblers, unashamedly picking walks from several different clubs, that interested me the most, and have always been made to feel welcome and included. Having now retired from being a partner with a local firm of Chartered Accountants I thought it was only fair to put something back into an organisation that has given me, along with many others, great pleasure and so I contributed a few walks and offered to be Treasurer when the vacancy arose last year.
