It is not a walk to follow. About 1 km from CB345 to the bypass is unofficial, and a locked metal gate stands about 20 metres before the bridge.\n\n### Elham Valley Railway\n\nThe dismantled line from Canterbury towards Bridge and Elham. The farm path runs close and parallel to the wooded trackbed.\n\n### The locked gate\n\nRobert's suggested first step is a kissing gate funded by KCC, so walkers can pass without giving motor vehicles a way through.\n\n### CB309 and Whitehill Wood\n\nOnce over the bridge, CB309 is a public bridleway to Bridge Road, then orchard and Whitehill Wood. Return via CB307, CB351 and CB347 from opposite Nackington church.\n\n\nRecorded from correspondence with Robert Veltman, October 2026, as a proposed route for discussion.
